Senior Portrait of the Day: Roman | Kingsburg Senior Portrait Photographer

I had a great time with Roman at Kingsburg High School, and God gave us a gorgeous sunset to work with. Roman’s a good guy and an athlete, so we played around with the ball field and parking lots in our quest for authentic awesome. Enjoy the photo!

Delaney’s not only nice-looking; she’s also one of the smartest people I’ve met recently. She’s a driven, opinionated, cool, interesting person, and you should look for her to do big things in this world. Thanks for a fun senior portrait session, Delaney!

5 things the class of 2012 should know about Senior Portraits

We have the privilege of having made a lot of senior portraits, and we want to share some tips for making your experience the best it can be!

In no particular order:

  1. Planning is key.  You get better stuff at the end of the process if you put a little thought in at the beginning.  What do you like about senior portraits?  Is there a style that you really like? A friend’s pictures that seem really cool to you?
  2. What do you want to do with your portraits when they’re finished? Display them in your home?  Give them as gifts? To whom and when?  If you have a list of places you want to use photos, you’ll make better decisions about what to order.
  3. Parent-student communication is important.  Have a conversation about your pictures.  Does one or both of you have expectations that you haven’t shared?
  4. Everyone is different.  We won’t stuff you into someone else’s mold, but to do that we need to get to know you.  Schedule a free consultation with us and come ready to share about yourself.  You don’t have to know ahead of time which pictures we’re going to create; just let us get to know you and we’ll dream up your session together.
  5. The process for making your senior portraits goes like this:
    • Consultation: This is a time for the senior and their parent to sit down and meet the photographer.  It’s a chance to dream and have all your questions answered.  Don’t forget your calendar!  We’ll schedule your portrait session and view and choose appointment.
    • Portrait Session: Shinn Photo offers portrait sessions either in our studio ($148) or on location ($265).  Which location? The perfect one!  We’ll dream about where to make portraits during your consultation.
    • View and Choose appointment: This is your chance to see the fruit of all our work!  Feel free to bring both parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, or anyone else you want to share your pictures with.  If you’d like, you can even order dinner in and make your view and choose appointment into a picture party!

I hope this is helpful.  Did we miss anything?  Leave your questions or additions in the comments!  You can call the studio at (559) 643-2072 or fill out this contact form to schedule your consultation today!
